# Personality Styles & Preferences

Don't let a focus on style cause you to miss the substance! Every team member has something to offer. But personality clashes, stylistic differences, unconscious biases, and misunderstandings about motivations can interfere with getting to the good stuff. Build your team's appreciation for differences in personality, strengths, and communication preferences.

## Getting to Know You

With more work-from-home, work-from-anywhere, and virtual set-ups, team members may not know each other well. The comfort that comes with being in the same space and sharing the same challenges is no longer a bond for many teams. 

That's one reason why it's difficult to get acquainted and to understand personality style differences. Instead, we leap to conclusions and make assumptions that impair relationships. 

Remote team members often feel left out and misunderstood. But that can happen even in teams where people work side-by-side. It's important to help team members build bridges of understanding and camaraderie so everyone has a sense of belonging. Our team building workshops that focus on style differences are always memorable and transformative.
